As many of us may already know, Samsung has confirmed that is going to be using a 64-bit processor in its new devices. They announced this just after the iPhone 5S was released/announced which came with a 64-bit processor.
Only last month, Korean reports reported that that Samsung's 64-bit chip was nearing the ending stages of development. It appears now however, that Samsung are very nearly done with the chip.
This chip will be ready in time for the rumored release of the Galaxy S5.

The upcoming chip is said to feature a next-gen Exynos 6 Central Processing Unit (CPU) with a 14nm architecture and 64-bit support. It is also said to have ARM's big.LITTLE octa-core configuration with Cortex-A53/57 cores. It is rumored that all 8 cores will be able to function simultaneously using half as much power as the currently available Exynos 5420 chip. This is a major upgrade from the Galaxy S4 (i9505) as that had an octa-core processor, except it could only use up to 4 cores at any one time.
Be sure to keep checking this blog for more news on the Galaxy S5 and the upcoming rumored launch and announcing of the Nexus 5.
Stay tuned!!
